billie jean analysis

Billie Jean aka Sam Piyasena is an artistic Graphic designer, best known for his designing contribution to the Nike campaign in 2004, where he designed vintage styled trainers, attempting to lead the revolution of fashion.

Billie jean created a various amount of work which were both artistically inspiring and genius, reaching out to the youth of the market with his bold drawings and designs.  This was clearly shown in his poster ‘30 Years of Nike Basketball Shoes’. In this he conveyed his idea of Nike in the last 30 years, using doodles of childhood images that he may have seen whilst growing up relating to Nike. Having this reputation allowed them to be more diverse with their designs becoming more in touch with the 70’s lifestyle.

A doodle filled campaign for samaritas created by Alex Holder, Oli Kellett, Daryl Corps and Ben Kay at advertising agency Lunar BBDO. Illustrted by Billie Jean.

The campaign for 2007 is based around the idea that doodles are a way of expressing your inner thoughts, and that if there are things on your mind then Samaritans is there to offer confidential support 24 hours a day. It is based around the idea that drawing doodles could be a way of expressing inner thoughts.

4 album cover analysis

BECK THE INFORMATION

The Information is the tenth (and seventh major-label) studio album by American alternative rock musician Beck, released in October 2006

The packaging for Beck’s latest album The Information consists of a blank grid cover and a random set of stickers for each release designed by various artists. The idea of the album is to mix and match as you choose to create your own custom cover.

COLDPLAY X&Y

X&Y is the third studio album by British rock band Coldplay, released 6 June 2005 in the United Kingdom

The artwork for X&Y was designed by graphic design duo Tappin Gofton, formed by Mark Tappin and Simon Gofton. The image, which is visualized through a combination of colours and blocks, is a graphical representation of the Baudot code, an early form of telegraph communication using a series of ones and zeros to communicate. The code was developed by Frenchman Émile Baudot in the 1870s, and was a widely used method of terrestrial and telegraph communication.

THE SHINS CHUTES TOO NARROW

Chutes Too Narrow is The Shins' 2003 follow-up to their debut album, Oh, Inverted World. The album title comes from a lyric in the song "Young Pilgrims".
In the video of the album I saw a lot of bright colours used and also lyrics of some of the songs that where on the album where also used.

CHEMICAL BROTHERS – PUSH THE BUTTON

In this album we can see that as we go through the packaging the design background of the album is made out of lyrics from songs that are on the album, we also see tools as if the album is built up of words.

Push the Button is the fifth studio album by English big beat band The Chemical Brothersfirst released in January 2005.

This is my digital image which was the final project in our as-a2 assignment. it was not one of the easiest but I had help from the tutorial, it was a very complicated task for me as I was having trouble with using some of the tools and the image didn't really turn out as expected. The image is inspired from a gig poster from the PSDTUTS website which we had to make a copy of, but mine didn't turn out as great, mainly because I am not confident with using the pen tool.

To make the image I had to use photoshop and followed the tutorial which made things a whole lot better. I did enjoy doing this task although it was quite hard and if I could do anything differently I would have tried to use the pen tool a lot better than I did.

This is the final piece of my Vector project, I believe this was my hardest project. I did not enjoy it and I don't think it was easy although we had a tutorial to follow to help us make the final image. I had difficulties using the pen tool mostly.

To get to this stage I first used photoshop to change the colours of the image and then I used illustrator, Photoshop was easier for me as I use that more often, but illustrator was not as I am not confident using illustrator.

In my photo is a pop star named Katy Perry and I got the photo of Google.

This project was very hard for me I did not enjoy it at all but I wish I was able to complete the image and if I could do anything differently I would have tried harder to complete the image but I am still quite happy with what I had done.

inspirational images

A person on Blogspot created this image. The message in the image inspires people to keep moving forward in life although we may lose things. Although I do think the image in the background looks quite depressing the message really inspires me.

This image I found on a blog site called ‘Tumblr’, this image says a lot to me. It really inspires me to work hard instead of waiting things to happen. As you can see, it is a quote said my a man named ‘Blair Waldorf’ but she has made it into an image.

This image I found on Google. The message in the image is inspiring us to make something out of ourselves and I have notice the way the text gets bigger as it comes to an end but ‘Creating’ is written in the biggest size and this is obviously meant to stand out the most to inspire us to MAKE something out of ourselves instead of waiting for something to happen.

This image is very inspirational to be because it is inspiring me to make a change in myself and also make a change in the world. It is a quote from Gandhi.
This is my final inspirational image which I found on a website named babloud.com. This image inspires me to think wisely before making mistakes because it could ruin my life permanently.
